On Monday April 9 at between 6:00pm and 7:30pm in Dubai, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Timothy Harris, staged an investors meeting which completely flopped. Ahead of the meeting, scores of angry investors who felt cheated by Harris’ double-talk on the Citizenship By Investment Programme confronted him in front of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel DIFC DUBAI.
During the event, the handful of the agents who remained at the event lamented during the luncheon session that the Prime Minister had lost his credibility and that he is creating uncertainty and instability in the programme. Particularly among previous investors who paid nearly half a million for their citizenship, there is anger and consternation at what the St. Kitts-Nevis Citizenship by Investment Programme has become. Investors who had a buy-back clause in their contract are infuriated by the abysmal failure of the programme.
It was clear from today’s meeting that investor confidence in the programme had been deeply undercut, and investors are partly blaming a number of agents of the programme for being part of the conmanship and deception that is being practised by the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. One investor remarked that he was not in the least surprised that Dr. Harris was the subject of violent outbursts and confrontation as investors in the region now see him as a conman of a Prime Minister who has cheapened their so-called Platinum investment that they were encouraged to make several years ago.
It is clear that the St. Kitts-Nevis Citizenship By Investment Programme has been seriously wounded by the mismanagement of Timothy Harris. If swift action is not taken, the programme will die a natural death.
